Todd Whitlow is a co-founder of Brownlee Whitlow & Praet, PLLC, bringing nearly two decades of experience in the rental housing industry. He serves as the firm's Director of Legal Operations, leading a team that handles all aspects of property operations throughout the Southeast. A committed advocate for the industry, Todd actively participates on committees at the national, state, and local levels, and regularly delivers education across the sector. As an NAAEI faculty member, he brings both practical acumen and a genuine passion for elevating standards and knowledge throughout the rental housing community.

Stephanie Loyd brings over 18 years of experience in the multifamily industry with a strong background in corporate marketing, sales, training, and education. She is a CALP and CAM instructor, a national speaker, and the first-ever recipient of the NAA Rising Star Award. She is also a member of the NAAEI Faculty. Stephanie is a National Sales Executive at Smart Apartment Data. She is a graduate of both the NAA Leadership Lyceum and AANC Leadership Lyceum programs. Stephanie is currently an Officer at Large for the National Suppliers Council and a member of the NAA Operations committee. Additionally, she is a certified instructor with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, where she teaches Mental Health First Aid. Stephanie’s passion for helping others in the multifamily industry really sets her apart.

Terry Ragland has worked in the property management industry for 35 years at the property, regional, and corporate levels. As Regional Vice President of Operations with Asset Living, she oversees management of properties across North Carolina, Virgina, South Carolina and Georgia.  Terry enjoys giving back to the industry from which she has received so much. She teaches National Apartment Association (NAA) designation classes and seminars for associations across several states, serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the NAA Education Institute (NAAEI) and serves nationally on NAAEI’s Curriculum Development Committee.  

Locally, she has served as President of both the Triangle Apartment Association and Triangle Apartment Association Education Foundation boards and has served on the Apartment Association of North Carolina Board of Directors. She serves on the AANC Education Committee at the state level and serves as a board member for the Institute of Real Estate Management.  

Terry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS), Certified Property Manager (CPM) and is a licensed Real estate broker in NC.

John started his career in the apartment industry in 1975. He has been a certified instructor for the National Apartment Association (NAA) since 2009.  In 2001, John joined a newly formed multifamily management company as a service technician and was later promoted to Service Manager in 2002.  John was promoted to Senior Service Manager in 2012.  John was Service Manager of the Year in 2006 and received the Positive Impact Award in 2010. John retired in 2024 from the Multi-family management company. John currently serves on the Education Committee with the Wilmington Apartment Association. John has been a key mentor to service personnel since 2011. He teaches maintenance-related classes for the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association (PTAA), Wilmington Apartment Association (WAA), Triangle Apartment Association (TAA), and Greater Charlotte Apartment Association (GCAA). He co-authored HVAC Best Practices for local apartment associations. John has a degree in Horticulture from NC State University. John’s certifications include: NSPF Certified Pool Operator, (CAMT) Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician, Certified Storm Water BMP Inspections & Maintenance, EPA Universal and R-410A. He is a certified R-410A Instructor and a Certified Appliance Technician (CAP) for Whirlpool, Maytag, Frigidaire, and General Electric. John was inducted into the AANC (Apartment Association of North Carolina) Hall of Fame in 2023. John resides in Richlands, NC, and his hobbies include boating, fishing, and playing musical instruments.
