Job Purpose
To work as an employee of a State Farm independent contractor agent assisting the agent in marketing State Farm products and services and in providing quality service to State Farm customers.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
- Experience in marketing and/or customer service desirable
- Experience with computer software desirable
- Knowledge of personal lines insurance products desirable

- Ability to learn and apply product, industry and market knowledge to make professional recommendations to prospects and policyholders and to satisfy insurance licensing requirements

JOB RELATED TRAINING COURSES, LICENSING AND PROGRAMS
- Successfully complete all company, state and federal requirements (licenses) to market and service designated State Farm products and continue to be licensed in good standing is required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement the agency’s marketing plan and direct mail campaigns at direction of the agent
- Work from the agent’s office to contact prospects and current policyholders to generate interest in insurance and financial review appointments
- Conduct needs based interviews in the agent’s office supported by technology
- ****Meet marketing goals set by the agent
- ****Provide prompt, accurate, friendly, cost-effective service and utilize it as a basis for establishing a marketing opportunity
- As directed by the agent, work with the agent’s computer system to update information in customer databases used by the agent
- Make a minimum of 25 outbound marketing phone calls a day (except outside marketing days)
- Quote a minimum of 10 autos/day
- ****Set a minimum of five appointments a week – auto and fire policies billed use for appointments
- Complete a minimum of 25 sales applications a month to receive and commission compensation
- Sell a minimum of 2/Health policies a month
- Sell a minimum of 2 life apps/month
- Complete a minimum of 19 property and casualty sales applications/month
- Expected to reach this level of production within 90 days
Additionally:
- One outside marketing day/week
- Car dealerships – visit to recruit more approved dealer referrals
- Apartment marketing – develop referral relationships with new employees that require renters insurance
- Be in charge of stocking giveaways, SF pens, cups, key chains, brochures
- Join professional organizations for marketing/networking
